You'll love this trip where you will not only learn about the Peruvian textiles techniques but also about the Peruvian culture!
This magical 10 day visit to the beautiful country of Peru is where you will experience the country's many fascinating sites highlighted by a visit to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World - Machu Picchu.
You will enjoy private weaving demonstrations by weavers from villages associated with The Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco, learn various knitting and weaving techniques (weaving kit included),
and also participate in a one Day Natural Dye Workshop.
Myra Wood, internationally know fiber and bead designer and teacher, will hold workshops throughout the entire trip where you'll aso learn the wonders of freeform fibearts. Each day we'll devote some time to your creative growth and discovery while you create one-of-a-kind treasures to bring home.
You'll receive a signed copy of her book, "Creative Crochet Lace" along with a goody bag stuffed with lots of yarns
and fiber related treats.
You'll also tour the cities of Cusco and Accha Alta, a traditional weaving community. This trip will feature an afternoon with Master weaver and author of Interweave Press Publication "Weaving in the Peruvian Highlands" Nilda Callanaupa Alvarez. ( signed book also included)
You will tour the "City of the Kings" in Lima and enjoy a mouth watering culinary demonstration of one of Peru's favorite dish " CEVICHE" and enjoy many other Peruvian delicacies along the way. You'll also have time to shop at many local handicraft markets throughout Peru and explore all that this marvelous country has to offer.
